The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
